Kaytranada has some thoughts about the state of live shows.

On Sunday, the DJ responded to a tweet from a fan who apologized to him for people who choose to record his performances instead of just enjoying their time at the show.

"kaytranada i am so sorry you got tiktok famous and now bastards are standing still during intimidated, freefall, vex oh, you’re the one??? WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON??? ALL POINTS WAST I MISS YOU pls do some private show for the real fans bc gen i can’t take this no mo," the tweet read.

"I think we have come in this age where everybody's trying to catch a moment for their own social media presence," Kaytranada responded. "It shows their appreciation instead of them dancing and enjoying shows like we used to do. It looks mad awkward from where i stand as i'm acknowledging the appreciation but we need to go back to where we used to be yall. If you put your phone up, let's move them hips at least!"

Kaytranada recently honored the twentieth anniversary of Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi with a remix of her hit single “Don’t Forget About Us." The remix will appear on the forthcoming The Emancipation Of Mimi (20th Anniversary Edition)reissue.

The iconic singer revealed in a statement that the reissue will come with several unreleased tracks as well as various remixes with a bevy of collaborators.

“I’m really happy to celebrate ‘Mimi’s Emancipation’ with this special anniversary re-release,” said Carey in a statement. “While working on this edition, I got to relive all the memories from this pivotal moment in my personal and professional life. This album has some of my biggest hits to date, as well as some personal favorites that are very special to me."

She added, "Forgotten gems, unreleased bonus tracks and different remixes with incredible collaborators – all of these and more are now available in one place for the first time ever!”
