Raekwon is dealing with legal drama surrounding his cannabis dispensary, HashStoria, which has been forced to shut down over a rent dispute.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, a judge ruled in favor of the landlord, BMHC LLC, ordering HashStoria to vacate its Newark location by July 1 due to unpaid rent totaling a reported $540,501.84. The space has reportedly remained empty since then.

Raekwon told TMZ, "We were hoodwinked, and while it's a very sad outcome, we will have our day in court!"

A spokesperson for HashStoria stated that the company plans to sue, alleging that the landlord agreed to prorate back rent while the building was under construction. The spokesperson added that delays in city permits had stalled their ability to generate revenue, and that BMHC had agreed to put a pause on payments until the renovations were complete.

Further complicating matters, HashStoria claimed BMHC allowed an unlicensed dispensary to operate illegally next door, which led to repeated police raids. As a response, the dispensary adopted the slogan "Legal AF."

Raekwon and co-owner Charlamagne Tha God had promoted HashStoria as a proudly Black-owned business at its November 2024 launch. However, the team alleged that systemic barriers and red tape hindered their efforts to succeed in a historically underserved community. HashStoria accused BMHC of violating their agreement and undermining their operation by enabling illegal competition.

Reporting by HeadyNJ reveals claims that vendors were underpaid, or not paid at all, by HashStoria. In addition, the site says an employee posted on social media that the dispensary was a "toxic workplace" beset by "mismanagement."

BMHC maintains it gave HashStoria enough time to catch up on rent payments after the grand opening in 2024, and they're already taking new offers to lease the property, including from other dispensaries.
