Drake Traverses Mediums and Debuts New Music in ‘Iceman Episode One’ Livestream
Drake has been working on a new album that many think is titled 'Iceman.’
Drake has gone live on YouTube for "Iceman Episode 1." The livestream started on Friday night after Drake sent fans into a frenzy earlier in the day by posting a message on his Instagram Stories, insisting they "BE HERE AT 9 PM."
Fans had to wait for about 30 minutes for Drake to start the show inside a warehouse with an "Iceman" logo plastered on two parked trucks.
Drake eventually appeared and blurred the lines between music video and streaming as he delved into his performance art bag to showcase a new song (and music video) that contains some interesting bars, such as one that seemingly references Kendrick Lamar's "Pop Out" concert.
"I saw bro in the Pop Out with them but been dickriding gang since 'Headlines'," raps Drake in the song, which is titled “What Did I Miss?” Another verse has Drake calling out former friends who once stood on his side, "Last time I looked to my right, you n***as was standing beside me. How could some people I love hang around pussies who tried me?"
The livestream progressed with Drake getting into an "Iceman" branded truck and taking a ride through Toronto, with a slew of unreleased songs playing in the background and fans coming up to the truck to show him love.
Towards the end of the livestream, someone appeared to call Drake a "bitch" which led to him calling the person a "pussy" while adding "we'll fold that up right now."
Drake's livestream comes after fans have been eagerly waiting for him to release new music since dropping his joint album with PartyNextDoor titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U back in February. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after moving 246,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release.
Fan-favorite record "Nokia" got the visual treatment when Drake unleashed the official music video in March. The song peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Drake has also been working on his upcoming album, allegedly titled Iceman.
In an Instagram Stories post that's since been deleted, Drake shared a picture of some wood with the phrase "Iceman 2025" carved into it, suggesting that the album is set to drop this year. Drake first teased the album title in May after posting some pictures that included a signed George "The Iceman" Gervin jersey.
