Yes, people flock to Nashville for its hot honey chicken, but music fans know the city is called the Songwriter Capital of the World for a reason. Some of music's biggest names have called Nashville home and penned our favorite songs there. So it makes sense that Kane Brown, a beloved singer-songwriter, would perform his hits in Nashville for Verizon 5G Home Internet’s Concert in the City series.

Raised in Chattanooga, Brown has had monstrous success as a country music star. With 12 chart-topping singles on country radio and two number one albums to his name, Brown is also the first Black artist to headline and sell out Boston’s historic Fenway Park in 2023.

To showcase Brown’s big talent and long list of hits, Verizon 5G has partnered with Complex to add him to its four-part Concerts in the City series with stops across the country. Concerts in the City will feature entertainers with strong senses of artistry that personify the spirit of each performance location, including Atlanta, Nashville, Houston, and Los Angeles. These performances will allow fans to connect with their faves in a more intimate way, keeping true to Verizon 5G’s mission of fostering community to bring people together.

Before Brown closes things out in Nashville, singer-songwriter Sinéad Harnett will play Houston, Saweetie will go back to Cali for a Los Angeles show, and R&B singer Jacquees will bring his hits to an Atlanta show.

Kane Brown’s ascent to the proverbial country music mountaintop is one for the books. Starting out as an independent artist, Kane Brown’s music quickly earned a loyal following. In 2016, his self-titled debut topped the Country Albums chart for more than 13 weeks off the strength of Diamond-certified hit “Heaven” and the nine-times platinum “What Ifs." In 2018, Kane Brown returned with the number one album Experiment. The Billboard Top 200 LP made Brown the first country artist in more than 24 years to top that chart with a second album.

In a short span of time, Kane Brown has performed in front of a sold out crowd, but as part of Verizon 5G’s Concert in the City, he has a chance to connect with his fans on a more intimate level, something he’s both excited and nervous to do.“I always get more nervous playing in front of small audiences,” The 31 year old entertainer says. “I feel more confident playing in a stadium over playing to a small group of people.”

Nonetheless, Kane Brown knows exactly which songs work best for smaller crowds.“My favorite song to sing in a small setting right now is ‘Backseat Driver’ because it’s such a Nashville songwriter song to sing which works in a small setting," he says.

Despite the jitters over his upcoming intimate concert, Brown is excited about his forthcoming album. Titled The High Road, the new LP will be released January 24, just in time for his performance. The album features collaborations from Khalid, Jelly Roll, Brad Paisley, his wife Katelyn Brown and his 2x platinum chart-topping hit “Miles On It” with Marshmello.
