Clipse's 'Let God Sort Em Out' Album: Features and Production Credits
Happy Clipse Day to all who celebrate.
Clipse’s Let God Sort Em Out, the peerless Virginia Beach duo’s first new album in over 15 years, opens with a no-holds-barred moment of mournful reflection, as brothers Pusha T and Malice each bring an undeniable sense of emotional urgency to verses about the deaths of their parents.
“The birds don’t sing, they screech in pain,” John Legend sings in the album opener’s chorus in an apparent nod to the Werner Herzog-focused 1982 documentary Burden of Dreams.
In a shrewd stroke of sequencing mastery, the raw and moving “The Birds Don’t Sing” is followed by the much-discussed “Chains & Whips” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Behind the boards throughout the 13-track surefire AOTY contender is Pharrell Williams, who also pops up vocally on “All Things Considered,” and elsewhere.
Below, take a closer look at the full credits for LGSEO, per Spotify. For a deeper dive, more extensive credits are available on Apple Music and Tidal, revealing, for example, that Lenny Kravitz contributed electric guitar on “Chains & Whips.” Another surprise guest is Pusha and wife Virginia's son, Nigel Brixx, who's credited with additional vocals on “All Things Considered.”
