Kanye West Gives Chicago Mayoral Candidate $126,460 After Distancing Himself From Politics

Kanye West, who just this week suggested he was done with politics (good idea!), has again donated to progressive Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia.

Chance the Rapper-endorsed mayoral candidate Amara Enyia says she received another donation from Kanye West following his tweeted decision to distance himself from politics, an arena within which he has most recently been wearing ugly MAGA hats.

The $126,460 donation to the progressive Chicago mayoral candidate was disclosed Wednesday, per a report from NBC Chicago. Previously, West gave the campaign fund $73,540. That amount helped Enyia pay off fines related to not closing a previous campaign account following her exit from a prior mayoral race.

"Narcissistically, if I back you, you have a chance," Chance said last month during a press conference that simultaneously served as his announcement of the Enyia endorsement and his denouncement of rumors suggesting he was planning to run himself.

As you most certainly know by now and are likely sick of hearing about, West earlier this week had perhaps far too many people convinced he had outright denounced Trumpism—something he had publicly embraced on more than one occasion to the disappointment of many fans—by admitting on Twitter that he felt "used" to spread messages in which he did not believe.

However, none of the tweets in question mentioned Trump by name. In fact, a subsequent report from T(rump)MZ claimed that West had contacted them to "make it clear" he didn't mention Trump, adding that he was "getting out of politics altogether." The report also claimed that West told them his "I've been used" comment was solely in reference to Candace Owens' Blexit stunt.

And the confusion continues.
