Lil Durk has been arrested in Florida over a murder-for-hire allegation.
Online jail records show that Durk, 32, was arrested on Thursday. As of this writing, he’s listed as being held in Broward County for the U.S. Marshals, with “murder-for-fire” specified as the charge.
Prior to news of Durk’s arrest, it was reported five individuals alleged to have connections to Durk’s Only the Family had been formally accused of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire targeting Quando Rondo. According to prosecutors, the alleged crime was carried out following King Von’s 2020 murder.
Per the Chicago Tribune, the individuals in question were accused in a California indictment of utilizing OTF-linked credit cards in the alleged conspiracy. Durk is not named among the accused in that case. It wasn't immediately clear if his arrest was connected.
Rondo was not injured in a 2022 shooting in the West Hollywood area. However, friend and cousin Saviay'a Robinson was fatally wounded. In a 2021 interview, Rondo downplayed claims of death threats in connection with King Von’s death one year prior, saying at the time, "that’s just some words."
Durk’s arrest comes after he was among those named in a wrongful death lawsuit from the estate of FBG Duck, who was fatally shot in 2020. Next month, Durk is set to release his ninth full-length studio album, Deep Thoughts, featuring the single “Turn Up a Notch.”
Complex has reached out to reps for Durk, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Marshals for comment. This story may be updated.
