Mariah Carey Returns to 'New Year's Rockin' Eve' Despite Absence of Hot Tea

In case you woke up in a stupor, wildly concerned about someone tracking down some hot tea for Mariah Carey, here's your answer:
Prior to procuring tea, Carey made her much-anticipated return to Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve to shut up the mouths of detractors who expect TV performances to be flawless and void of the charms of imperfection. As anyone who spends their New Year's Eve indoors in front of a TV and/or an illegal stream, the 2017 edition of the Ryan Seacrest-hosted broadcast ultimately resulted in a tweeted explanation from Carey stating that "shit happens." Sources toldEntertainment Tonight at the time that Carey had trouble with her in-ear monitors, an issue that was allegedly not resolved prior to Carey taking the stage.
The only issue plaguing this year's performance, however, was an apparent absence of hot tea. But even in the face of a hot tea shortage, Carey delivered:
