Playboi Carti Joined by Kai Cenat and Dabo During Electrifying Rolling Loud California 2025 Set
The weekend-closing set came two days after the long-awaited arrival of 'MUSIC.'
Fresh off declaring that he is music with the euphoric release of his long-awaited new album, Playboi Carti brought Rolling Loud California to a close with an expectedly energizing set on Sunday night.
Kai Cenat, with Young Dabo by this side, streamed his own experience during Carti’s set, at one point being personally handed an iced-out Young Vamp Life (YVL) chain from the MUSIC artist himself. Later, Cenat and Dabo were pulled up onto the stage to join the action, ultimately resulting in a live-in-front-of-the-world meeting with special guest The Weeknd and festival co-founder Tariq Cherif.
“This performance is so crazy. Bro, he gave n***as his chain,” Cenat told chat before being invited to join Carti and company on the stage. Once out of the photo pit, Cenat took to the mic to address the unfathomably massive crowd, as seen in footage shared by Cenat himself.
After the weekend-closing set, Carti dubbed Cenat “baby boi” in an update to his Instagram Stories. The Weeknd’s appearance during Carti’s set, meanwhile, marked a special moment in Rolling Loud’s decade-plus history, as it stands as his first time ever taking the stage at the festival.
MUSIC, previously known under the long-teased title I AM MUSIC, saw Carti delivering on nearly half a decade’s worth of hype with a 30-track project boasting a trio of Kendrick Lamar cameos, among other special guests. The album’s lengthy, mystique-building rollout is unlike anything else in music at large in recent memory. The approach clearly worked, as MUSIC is currently poised to land a gargantuan opening week on the Billboard 200 albums chart after already becoming the most-streamed album in a single day on Spotify this year.
