Who is Pluto?

The young artist has strong ties to Atlanta, a city known for having brought the world numerous high-wattage zeitgeist-shifters. ATL’s own Playboi Carti, for example, just spent multiple weeks atop the Billboard 200 albums chart. Then there's ATLiens like Future, who scored multiple No. 1 albums last year, and also goes by the nickname Pluto.

In her Instagram bio, Pluto refers to herself as “Big PLUTO, a.k.a. Ms. Pinky.”

Musically, Pluto's rap style is reminiscent of Sexyy Red, a rapper who has made waves for her unfiltered lyrics about sex.

When did "Whim Whamiee" come out?

“Whim Whamiee,” featuring YK Niece, first hit streaming services on Feb. 3 of this year. By the end of March, it had topped Apple Music’s regionally focused Top 25: Atlanta chart, besting songs from Morgan Wallen and Lil Durk in the process. As of this writing, the song was in the No. 2 spot on Spotify's Viral 50 - USA chart. Credited with production are Zaytoven, Mikey, and Jai.

On the song, Pluto spits blunt bars about men and relationships rapping lyrics like, "He want me bad, heard he a duck, can't get no coochie out the queen, put some Lulu on this butt (Lululemon)."

On the chorus she raps, "We forever gettin' money, you forever gon' be mad."

How is Pluto connected to Sexyy Red?

Other rap stars are taking notice of Pluto's rise. During a recent performance at Georgia State, Sexyy Red brought out Pluto as a surprise guest. See footage below.
