Tyler, The Creator Shares Preview of Official Video for 'Chromakopia' Track "Sticky"
It's gettin' stickyyyyyyyyyyy.
Tyler, The Creator's addictive Chromakopia cut "Sticky" is finally getting a video.
Friday, Tyler shared a minute-long visual for the song. In the YouTube description, it's noted that the director is, expectedly, none other than Tyler himself.
"Video will come," the description notes, suggesting that a full video is imminent. Even at just a minute long, however, Tyler has again given fans a meticulously crafted visual experience.
The album version of the heavily marching band-inspired track, one of the best of 2024 and unlike anything else released that year, saw Tyler enlisting the perfectly executed stylings of a stacked roster of guest stars: GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne. The song swiftly led to a marching band rendition by way of Jackson State University’s Sonic Boom of the South, with Tyler praising the performance as “beautiful” back in November.
“This is why I made ‘Sticky,’” he said at the time. “This is why I arranged it that way!”
The marching band aesthetic is actually having a bit of a moment right now. Earlier this month, Travis Scott employed flame-shooting horns in his CFP National Championship performance of “4x4.”
Chromakopia, released back in October, again saw Tyler being met with universal acclaim and is no doubt a top contender for the 2026 Grammys. Complex named it the second-best album of the year, while Kendrick Lamar’s GNX came in at No. 1.
“I’m at a different point in my life than I was when most of you met me,” Tyler later told fans when thanking them for their support as he embarked on a new chapter. “So to share these thoughts or feelings that I may/may not have lightly touched on before felt like such a release, and to see so many of you resonate with it is such a great feeling I’ve never experienced.”
Chromakopia: The World Tour kicks off next week at the Xcel Energy Center arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The full run sees Tyler giving fans in Los Angeles a six-night run, as well as multiple stops in Toronto and New York.
