An Atlanta rapper has been sentenced to over five years in prison after bringing a machine gun into a hospital.

Yahoo reports that Terrell Monquez Searcy, also known as Quez2rr, was found inside of a hospital’s labor and delivery unit on August 17, 2023, with a stolen firearm that was illegally modified.

A nurse reported seeing the rapper with a weapon, and when security arrived, Searcy admitted that he had the firearm underneath a couch cushion.

The weapon was discovered to be a Glock Model 17 9mm handgun with a 30-round extended magazine and a “switch” on the back, turning it into a machine gun.

Police officers later discovered that the weapon had previously been reported stolen in Walton County, Georgia.

Per Yahoo!, Searcy's music video "Traffic" on YouTube shows him with a pistol outfitted to be a machine gun.

"I put a switch on the back of my Glock, just to clean up the street when it’s time for that action," he raps in the video.

U.S. Attorney C. Shanelle Booker gave a statement about Searcy’s conviction, saying, "Holding people found in possession of machine guns and with illegal conversion devices accountable for breaking federal law remains a top priority in the Middle District of Georgia.

"This case exemplifies how law enforcement and prosecutors work together to effectively remove illegal firearms and other dangerous destructive devices from the streets in order to make our communities safer,” she continued.

After his federal indictment last August, authorities found Instagram messages between Searcy and a female officer of the Clayton County Police Department where he consulted with her about whether he had any outstanding warrants.

Earlier this year, local and federal authorities conducted a search warrant at the rapper’s house and discovered multiple weapons, with one of them linked by ballistic analysis to a drive-by shooting in DeKalb County that injured four people.
