Kid Cudi Set to Testify in Diddy's Sex Trafficking Trial
Kid Cudi is set to testify against Diddy in his sex trafficking trial this week.
Kid Cudi is set to testify in Diddy's federal sex trafficking trial this week, Complex's Shawn Setaro reports. There are two witnesses ahead of him. Prosecutors said he is expected to to take the stand perhaps as early as Wednesday afternoon.
The news comes on the same day that Cassie Ventura's mother claimed that in late 2011, Diddy demanded she pay him $20,000 because he was "angry" after discovering her relationship with Cudi.
In court today (May 20), Regina Ventura took the stand and claimed that her and her husband had to take out a home equity loan to pay Diddy what he was requesting, so he could recoup on what he spent on Cassie. Several days after paying the money, she continued, Diddy gave it back without explanation.
In addition, the jury saw an email Regina received from Cassie at around this same time (see above). In the email, the singer told her mother that Diddy was threatening to release "2 explicit sex tapes of her" as payback for her relationship with Cudi. In addition, she said in the email that the Bad Boy head "said he will be having someone hurt me and [Kid Cudi] physically."
Recalling her reaction to reading the email, Regina testified, "I was physically sick."
"I knew he was trying to hurt my daughter," she continued.
Earlier in the trial, Cassie testified that Diddy told her in late 2011 or early 2012 that he was going to have someone blow up Kid Cudi's car. She first mentioned this in her 2023 civil suit.
Cudi confirmed shortly after Cassie filed her suit that his car was indeed set on fire in early 2012. No one was arrested for the incident.
