LeBron James Big Ups Gunna's New Album 'The Last Wun'
He thinks Wunna can't miss.
LeBron James let the world know that he’s feeling Gunna’s new album, The Last Wun.
The NBA legend posted on X Saturday (Aug. 9) that the rapper’s new album is a slam dunk, writing “WUNNA!!!! Man o man, You don’t miss,” followed by a salute emoji and five different fire emoji.
LeBron’s fandom for Gunna has endured through the years. In 2024, the two were spotted together in Paris as Gunna let him preview some new music. The year before that, Lebron posted that Gunna’s “back at it” on his Instagram Story.
Gunna’s The Last Wun hit streaming services on Friday. The LP, which features Burna Boy, Offset, Wizkid, Nechie, and Asake, has 25 tracks.
In an interview with Uproxx, Gunna spoke about the album’s lack of theme, explaining that “it’s in current time of what’s happening to me.”
In the same conversation, the rapper revealed how he’d describe this era of his life creatively.
“I would say ‘alignment’ because I’m aligned with everything creatively that’s personally going on in my life,” he said. “When it comes to music, this era has all been today in time. What’s current with me. What’s happening with me. I feel like that’s how it’s aligned.”
Gunna’s success comes at a time where artists like Lil Baby and Young Thug have distanced themselves from him for doing what they perceived to be “snitching” during the YSL trial.
In January, Gunna’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, issued a statement saying that his client didn’t “snitch.”
“Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug's case,” Sadow said in an X post. “THOSE THAT HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BAD MOUTH GUNNA, GET OVER IT. NUFF' SAID.”
