NLE Choppa returned to Memphis to read his new children's book, Cricket Stop Cricking, to preschoolers.

Fox 13 Memphis reports that the rapper read the book to kids at Porter-Leath Preschool. In a video captured of the heartwarming moment, NLE Choppa relays the book’s educational message to several kids who look excited to hear all about it.

“One thing that I realized with children’s movies and children’s books is that there’s a message in there that’s so clear and easy to come across,” said NLE Choppa to the news outlet. He also explained that he thinks finding that message is the purpose of children’s entertainment.

NLE Choppa also explained the goal of Cricket Stop Cricking. “I think books like this can open a palette to becoming open to learning things of that nature,” explained NLE Choppa. “The moral of the story is to be kind to other people.”

Back in January, NLE Choppa made headlines when he silenced those who accused him of “queerbaiting” in a photo from a shoot with Playgirl.

“Never been gay baiting,” wrote NLE Choppa on X. “It’s me showing freedom. Anything nowadays is called gay or it’s baiting. In reality I’m comfortable enough, and have the utmost confidence in how good God designed me head to toe. Call me what you want, but a straight man comfortable in my own skin, I AM.”

In a video posted from a hotel bathroom, NLE Choppa elaborated on the topic a bit more. "I just feel like narratives get painted because I don’t care so much," he said. "But do not say that I'm a gay baiter because I'm comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual, and even my emotions."
