Offset Says Album-Ender 'Move On' Is About Relationship With Cardi B: 'It's a Book That's Closed'
"It’s all love and peace.”
Offset says that his upcoming song “Move On” is about closing the book on his relationship with Cardi B.
The rapper spoke about the meaning of the song during a recent sit-down with the Associated Press.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” he explained. “That’s what the message is supposed to be. It’s all love and peace.”
“I just ended the album with that [song], just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with,” he continued. “It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
If the AP interview and other recent media sit-downs are any indication, Offset has finally come to terms with what happened that resulted in the end of his time with Bardi. His explanation about the meaning of “Move On” comes around the same time that he admitted he was the problem in their relationship.
During an interview with Ebro Darden for Apple Music, Offset owned up to his actions by telling Ebro, “I fucked up. Just being real.”
Instead of stewing in what happened, Offset made it clear that he’s ready to move forward.
“I gotta acknowledge that and get back on the journey,” he admitted.
Offset and Cardi’s relationship (or lack of) has been the hot topic of 2025 thanks to their back-and-forths, Cardi B’s new relationship, and their ongoing divorce proceedings.
In June, Cardi claimed that she believed she would have gone to jail for murder if she’d stayed in a relationship with Offset. In an X spaces, Cardi explained that she was single last September through February and spent a large amount of time partying, learning about herself, and “crying a lot.”
“I don't think people understand how tired I was … I was mentally drained,” she said. “Couldn't eat—I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind. I gave [him] chances after chances.”
“If I was still there, I was gonna end up going to jail. Cause I was gonna end up killing him, seriously, with my own bare hands,” she admitted. “It was just getting too much.”
