Hudson Meek, who was best known for his role as Young Baby in 2017’s Baby Driver, has died.
Law enforcement officials told TMZ that the 16-year-old died after tumbling out of a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, on Dec. 19. Meek was rushed to a hospital to be treated for blunt force trauma injuries but passed away two days later.
Hudson’s mother, Lane, confirmed news of her son’s passing via a public Facebook post, writing, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, with contributions being directed toward Vestavia Hills High School in his memory.
Hudson’s career included appearances in TV shows like MacGyver, Legacies, and Found, as well as the 2015 film 90 Minutes in Heaven. He also lent his talents as a voice-over artist for brands like Toys-R-Us and McDonald’s.
His obituary notes that he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones and that he will be an organ donor to help others in need of transplants.
