Grimes Defends Elon Musk’s Gaming Skills: ‘I Did Observe These Things With My Own Eyes'

Earlier this month, skeptics criticized Musk for supposedly reaching level 97 on the "Path of Exile 2" video game.

Grimes wants to clear the air about Elon Musk’s alleged gaming skills.

The 53-year-old Tesla CEO has recently come under scrutiny from the gaming community for his alleged success with the game Path of Exile 2.

As explained by Game Rant’s Pam K. Ferdinand, Musk claimed he reached level 97 in the game’s hardcore permadeath mode without any third party help. Skeptics questioned the possibility of his claim because of the time commitment and skill such a feat would require.

Those doubts intensified after Musk was reportedly kicked from the game for performing too many actions in short succession, which some believe might indicate the use of marcos or cheats, or even paying other users to maximize his statistics.

Musks’s ex-partner, 36-year-old Grimes, with whom he shares children X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2, defended his abilities in a new post on X.

“Just for my personal pride, I would like to state that the father of my children was the first american druid in diablo to clear abattoir of zir and ended that season as best in the USA,” wrote Grimes on Saturday, referring to Musk’s skills in Diablo 4. “He was also ranking in Polytopia, and beat Felix himself at the game. I did observe these things with my own eyes. There are other witnesses who can verify this. That is all.”

Musk responded with a mere, “Thanks.”

Questions and doubts about Musk’s Path of Exile 2 feat continued with critics pointing out his lack of familiarity with basic game mechanics during livestreams and behaviors inconsistent with someone who is deeply experienced in the game.

Echoing some of Musk’s doubters, Gizmodo’s Matthew Gault wrote earlier this month, “Where the hell does Musk find the time? He’s the head of six companies and a close associate of incoming President Donald Trump.”

“He posts on X, the social media site he owns, roughly 61 times a day. He meets with world leaders, attempts to bend national and international politics to his will, and still somehow has time to play games like Diablo IV and PoE 2 at the highest level.”

“His constant emphasizing in the stream that what he is doing is very, very difficult while seemingly not understanding what he’s actually doing is incredibly on brand for the attention and love desperate Musk,” said reporter Joseph Cox to Gizmodo.
