Watch John Mulaney Fight Three 14-Year-Olds in Wild Netflix Stunt
The comedian fulfilled a meme-fueled promise and faced off against the boys with help from Adam Sandler.
John Mulaney has shown that he's not afraid to get his hands dirty after stepping into the ring to wrestle three teenage boys — watch the action below.
On Wednesday’s (May 28) episode of his Netflix talk show, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, the actor/comedian followed through on a promise to fight three 14-year-old boys after a monthlong bit he teased on the show.
"Four weeks ago, I promised to fight three 14-year-olds. From thousands of submissions, we selected three young men that are about to join me on the mat," said Mulaney, per The Hollywood Reporter. "All you at home, all you’ve done is talk, talk, talk. It’s time to end the smack talk, end the conjecture and settle this, man-to-boy."
The rules were simple — no punching, kicking, gouging, biting, and pinning. Headlocks were allowed, provided "the arm is encircled."
A live studio audience looked on as special guest Adam Sandler made introductions for the teenage contenders, who were dressed in matching suits and ties, plus wrestling gear. Executive producer Richard Kind made the intro for Mulaney, who wound up getting booed by his own audience before flipping them off.
The idea for the sketch stemmed from the internet’s wildly viral "100 men vs. one gorilla" debate.
"I think a lot of those simulations online are super-flawed, because it’s going to be a pile," Mulaney said at an FYC event for his talk show, per IndieWire. "People might be picturing one young man — I think it’s going to be all three jumping on me, and that’s what I’m preparing for."
Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney is streaming now on Netflix.
