Brown married Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi, during a secret ceremony in May held in Villa Cetinale, Italy.
Millie Bobby Brown had her wedding officiated by her former Stranger Things co-star.
The 20-year-old actress wed Jake Bongiovi, 22, in a secret ceremony held in May at Villa Cetinale in Italy, per People. The intimate wedding was full of the couple’s family and close friends, including Jake’s parents Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi.
Also in attendance was Matthew Modine, who played Dr. Martin Brenner a.k.a Papa for the hit Netflix series until its fourth season. As previously announced, the 60-year-old officiated the wedding for the couple.
“I wrote the wedding vows and they love what I wrote for them to to join hands and become a husband and wife,” Modine told Access Hollywood in March, noting that both the bride and groom thought it would be a great idea to have him do the honors.
Modine and Brown first met on set for the first season of Stranger Things in 2015 when she was merely 11 years old and have maintained a close friendship since then.
“Papa and Eleven have such an intimate relationship, so we needed to be able to bond to portray that,” Brown told Tudum’s Ruth Kinane in 2022. “We meshed, and it was just a true, real friendship. Nothing was ever forced. It just worked.”
Modine became close to Brown’s family since the show’s first season and their relationship has included staying at their guest house and going on road trips together.
The newlyweds shared the first photos of their wedding on Wednesday with Brown captioning her post, “Forever and always, your wife.” Bongivi uploaded a separate set of photos with, “Forever and always, your husband.”
Days after their wedding, the couple were spotted in the Hamptons during a shopping trip while wearing their wedding rings.
Brown and Bongiovi became romantically involved in June 2021 but made it Instagram official that November. They became engaged last April.
