A new trailer for The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow film has been released.

The trailer was screened for fans during Lionsgate’s showcase on Tuesday at the 2025 CinemaCon at Caesars Colosseum in Las Vegas, according to Deadline.

Directed by Trey Edward Shults, the psychological thriller stars the singer, who’s billed under his birth name Abel Tesfaye, Jenna Ortega, and Barry Keoghan

Ortega, who was on site for the trailer’s reveal, called the film “hard to describe.”

“I haven’t seen a movie quite like it. It’s very soulful,” she said, per Deadline. “It feels more like an experience, and when you go into it with that mentality, it makes sense.”

Further into the event, Ortega also introduced the Weeknd to the stage to perform two songs from the upcoming film, “Cry for Me” and “Open Hearts,” along with his career-defining hit, “Blinding Lights.”

In the Hurry Up Tomorrow trailer, the Weeknd plays a fictionalized version of himself who is seemingly managed by Keoghan’s character, Lee, and romantically involved with Amina (played by Ortega).

The clip opens with a dramatic shot of Ortega pouring gasoline inside of a residence. A gagged and bound Weeknd is seen shedding tears before Ortega lowers a lit up lighter closer to his face.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is set for release on May 16.
