Former 'Opie and Anthony' Co-Host Anthony Cumia Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting a Woman

Things have gone downhill for controversial radio host Anthony Cumia. The former co-host of Opie and Anthony was arrested on Saturday after allegedly assaulting a woman during an altercation that took place in his Roslyn Heights home.
According to Pix 11, police revealed that Cumia got into an altercation with an unidentified woman, who is believed to be 26-years-old. The alleged argument took place around 1 a.m. at Cumia's home. A video has since surfaced of Periscope user "DaniGolightly" allegedly documenting the assault inside the home. In it, she shows the camera various bruises and what appears to be a broken hand, claiming that she attempted to call police. As Gawkerpoints out, "Dani Golightly is the daughter of comedian Vinnie Brand, who owns The Stress Factory comedy club in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 2008, when she was 19, Golightly appeared on The Opie and Anthony Show."
The controversial talk host was arrested on Saturday and reportedly charged with strangulation, criminal mischief, assault, and unlawful imprisonment. Pix 11reports that Cumia was indicted in court on Sunday and was released without bail. Cumia is scheduled to attend court in January.
On Sunday the official Anthony Cumia Show Facebook page released a statement made by Cumia's attorney, Alan J. Schwartz addressing the incident that occurred on Saturday night.
Cumia was fired in 2014 by SiriusXM for sharing controversial tweets. One of the tweets explained how he punched a black woman while trying to take a picture in Times Square. Since being let go from SiriusXM, he had been a host of the online subscription show The Anthony Cumia Show until his firing in July of last year.
