Chick-fil-A Is Launching a Family-Friendly Streaming Service
No word on whether the service will be available on Sundays.
Fast food chain Chick-fil-A is launching a streaming platform featuring original content.
Deadline reports that the brand, best known for its chicken sandwiches, has been working alongside production companies to create family-friendly content for its currently unannounced streaming service. The platform will also reportedly license and acquire content from elsewhere. The majority of what is expected to show up on the platform will be unscripted series.
Studios working with Chick-fil-A include Glassman Media, which produced NBC's The Wall, and Sugar23, responsible for shows such as Maniac and 13 Reasons Why. Those studios have been given a ten-episode order for a game show. Sources said that budgets for unscripted projects could be as much as $400,000 per half-hour episode.
Producer Brian Gibson has been talking with multiple producers about bringing content to the platform ahead of its launch, which could be as early as later this year. There's been some consideration for animated and scripted projects, too. Chick-fil-A previously produced its own animated series for its website, Stories of Evergreen Hills.
It's unclear if the streaming platform will be available on Sundays.
