DDG Calls Out Apple Music for Poop Emoji Name Blunder: 'Fix This, Gang'
Earlier this year, DDG's brother got into a fight with someone after they called the streamer "Doo Doo Garbage."
Streamer and rapper DDG has words for Apple Music after it appeared as though his name comes up after users searched the poop emoji on the platform.
In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, he called out the streaming platform alongside a screenshot that showed that a search on Apple Music using the poop emoji. The results showed DDG, a song titled "The Poop Song," and another song titled "Poop."
"Who at Apple Music trolling me since I dropped my new song?" he wrote alongside several crying emojis. "Apple Music fix this gang."
The image could be a doctored attempt to capitalize on the meme of suggesting that DDG's name stands for "Doo Doo Garbage," which surfaced earlier this year. However, there's also a post from the popular news aggregator account Pop Crave that showed a similar screenshot, which he reposted.
"Noooooo not on the same day I drop my song," he added.

According to Know Your Meme, the diss came from YouTuber SoLLUMINATI in June 2023. That same year, users noticed that searching "💩💩" on Spotify brought up DDG’s music, sparking memes and online jokes.
When DDG participated in Kai Cenat's Streamer University event, a moment went viral during his Internet Beef 101 class after someone called him "Doo Doo Garbage."
The name reared its head again later in the year, after a Dream Con attendee came up to him and called him it to his face. The moment was captured on video and showed DDG's brother, DuB, getting into an altercation with the individual who used the disparaging nickname. The incident was later referenced in the custody battle with Halle Bailey, the mother of his child.
