Kai Cenat Says He Turned Down His Met Gala Invite: 'Didn't Wanna Do That Brand'
The streamer said he did not align with the brand that wanted to host him.
Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat says that he turned down an invite to the Met Gala this year.
During a recent stream, Cenat addressed his chat and revealed that he could have gone to the 2025 Met Gala. "I had an opportunity to go to the Met Gala, chat," he said, as seen in the clip below. "But, I didn't go because I'm not gonna lie, the brand that wanted to host me... I didn't really, like, wanna do that brand."
This year, the theme of the Met Gala is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," with the co-chairs including Anna Wintour, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, and Colman Domingo. It's unclear what brand invited Cenat to the Met Gala, but this year's event is sponsored by Louis Vuitton. Additionally, Wintour has the final say in the guest list.
Many celebrities who attend the Met Gala pay the $75,000 ticket price, but a lot of them are hosted by brands that pay for tables at the event in exchange for wearing a look designed by them. The exact guest list for the event typically remains under wraps until the day of the event, but expect to see all the co-chairs make a splash on the carpet.
While Cenat was invited, popular fashion influencer Wisdom Kaye recently revealed that he did not receive an invite.
