Tiffany Haddish on Her Relationship With Money: 'Ups and Downs'

In a recent post shared on social media, Tiffany Haddish reflected on her complicated relationship with money.
The 45-year-old comedian and actress, who most recently appeared in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, has been up-front about her issues with money in the past. In a recent post on Instagram, which featured an older clip of her dancing and making out with a dollar bill until she's writhing around on the floor and spanking herself with it, Haddish said that she's had her "ups and downs" when it comes to her finances.
"My relationship with money for the last 10 years?" she wrote alongside the clip. "We have had our ups and downs over the year. But we are growing and are stronger than ever."
Last year, Haddish admitted that her finances were so bad at one point that she sold dirty underwear on Craigslist and told her customers that the garments belonged to Halle Berry. "Back in the day when I was struggling for money, I used to sell my panties," she said on the We Playin' Spades podcast. "I would say that my name was Rosalinda, and I was a housekeeper for Halle Berry and I have some of her dirty panties."
In 2022, she spoke to Cosmopolitan and revealed that she used the $80,000 she made from her breakout role in Girls Trip to finish off paying for her home. "People told me to spend it in other ways, but I used it to pay off the house because I was always afraid of being homeless again," said Haddish, who had been acting since at least 2005 but didn't achieve mainstream success until 2016's Keanu and 2017's Girls Trip.
Shortly after Girls Trip premiered, grossing $140 million worldwide on a $19 million budget, Haddish told Vanity Fair in 2018 that she lived out of her car in the early years of her career and once received a $300 loan from Kevin Hart. After gaining success, she offered to pay back the loan, but he refused to accept the money.
