'RHOA' Star Shamea Morton's Future With Franchise in Question Following IG Bio Update
Morton's rumored departure follows a messy reunion show.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta fandom is in full speculation mode after Shamea Morton quietly removed all references to RHOA from her Instagram bio.
According to Rolling Out, the subtle update has sparked questions about her future on the franchise, especially following a tense Season 16 reunion that pitted her in direct conflict with longtime friend Porsha Williams.
Once childhood besties, Morton and Williams's friendship unraveled throughout the season.
The situation boiled over during Part 2 of the reunion, when Williams accused Morton of scheming and dishonesty. In response, Williams dropped receipts on Instagram, including photos and videos to refute two specific claims: that she didn’t attend Morton’s wedding in Africa, and that she failed to congratulate Morton on becoming a full-time peach-holder.
Williams posted a video of the flowers she sent, accompanied by a card reading, “Congrats Queen Mwangi,” and a screenshot of her public Instagram support.
Morton clapped back, labeling the evidence “fake.” She clarified Williams had only attended her dowry ceremony, not her wedding in Nairobi, and claimed the congratulatory flowers were sent for her birthday, not her RHOA promotion. In a now-deleted post, Morton wrote, “You can keep your fake receipts with your fake ass friendship.”
On the RHOA After Show, Morton grew emotional while reflecting on their fallout, revealing that she felt unsupported and heartbroken by the way things had played out. “I just wanted it to be OK,” she told castmate Kelli Ferrell off-camera. “I was being respectful of the fact that this is her space.” Shamea admitted she never planned to join the show but hoped they could model a strong, genuine friendship.
Meanwhile, Williams claimed their rift stemmed from other women pitting them against each other and insisted she wanted to clear the air during their Episode 11 sit-down.
As for Morton's RHOA future? That remains to be seen, but the Instagram bio update and emotional reunion fallout hint that her days on the show may be numbered.
