More tragedy for Dog the Bounty Hunter, this time involving his step-grandson, who was shot and killed by his own father in a freak accident.

According to a report from TMZ, dog's stepson, Gregory Zecca, who is the son of Dog's wife Francie Frane, accidentally shot and killed his 13-year-old son Anthony. The incident went down Saturday night in the family's apartment in Naples, Florida.

A rep for Dog and Francie, speaking on behalf of the couple, told TMZ, "We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony." The family is asking for privacy as they navigate the loss.

As for law enforcement, the TMZ report states officials are calling the shooting an "isolated incident." They have not made any arrests, and the investigation continues.

It's currently unknown exactly how the shooting happened, or what the father and son were doing when the gun went off. Zecca has not made a public statement about the incident.

You'll remember, Dog and Francie got married in 2021 following the death of Dog's wife, Beth Chapman. Beth, who was just as recognized as Dog through the couple's bounty hunting reality show, died in 2019 after a very public battle with cancer.

Francie, who lost her husband years ago, said she and Dog shared their grief and it helped to bring them together. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight she said, "We understood the pain that the other one was feeling and those tough days and moments, we helped each other stand up. We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling.” She continued, "We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak and it brought us together in this amazing way.”
