50 Cent Is Talking About Leaving 'Power' Because It Wasn't Nominated For a Golden Globe

Somebody appears to be really upset over being left out of the Golden Globe nominations that were announced today (and it's not Tom Hanks).

Rapper-turned-actor 50 Cent went on social media to vent his frustration after his hit Starz series Power, which has had a record setting year for the premium cable network, did not receive a single nomination for the upcoming awards ceremony.

On Instagram, he posted a photo of himself on an airplane with a caption that alluded to killing off his character on the series so that he could move on to other projects.

Not long after that, 50 posted a photo of Floyd Mayweather that seemed to suggest the now-retired boxer was going to take over his spot on the show, which is a pretty good troll, but a highly unlikely real-world scenario.

He followed that up a few hours later with another post that seemed to be responding to people trying to contact him about the Golden Globe news, and saying he was working on "my new project."

As far as how serious 50 is about wanting to actually leave the series, a spokesperson for Starz told Variety the network is proud of the show, but didn't offer comment on its star's talk about leaving. 

A reporter for Entertainment Weekly tweeted that sources told her the network isn't really worried it will happen.

Power has already been renewed for a fourth and fifth season. As Variety points out, 50 Cent is under contract to appear on the series through 2018.
