Ice Cube Denies Rumors About Doing a Movie About the L.A. Riots With His Son (UPDATE)

UPDATE (8/20/15, 11:09 p.m.): Varietyreports that Ice Cube is straight-up denying rumors that he and his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., are collaborating on another movie. After word got out that the father-son pair, who worked together on box office hitStraight Outta Compton, might team up again for a movie about the L.A. riots in 1992, Ice Cube's team released a statement saying that no such thing is happening (or at least, not officially confirmed).

"Ice Cube and O'Shea Jackson Jr. have no plans to commit to this project at this time," the statement said. "Any speculation or rumors that suggest that they are confirmed are simply untrue."

It looks likeIce Cube and his son O'Shea Jackson Jr. want to keep the momentum going after the massive success of Straight Outta Compton.

Cube, who produced Compton, and Jackson, who starred in it, are already in negotiations to work together again on another Los Angeles-centric film — this one about the '92 riots — titled April 29, 1992, according to The Hollywood Reporter:

Shooting on the film would reportedly begin as soon as February. It's kind of insane that it has taken this long to get a movie about the L.A. riots (not counting that bad TV movie from 1997).

And as we know, in Hollywood, it's not so bad working with your dad if he's "a fly dude."
