Rose McGowan Isn't Happy About the Golden Globes Silent Protest
McGowan called out actresses who plan to wear all black at the ceremony as a statement against sexual harassment.

Several sources have confirmed to People magazine that actresses like Jessica Chastain, Mary J. Blige, and Meryl Streep have vowed to wear all black at this year’s ceremony as a form of protest against sexual misconduct in Hollywood. Though many people have praised this plan, Rose McGowan isn’t too thrilled about it.
On Saturday, the self-proclaimed “feminist whistle-blowing badass” criticized the protest and its expected participants. She specifically called out Streep, who is nominated for her role in The Post.

“The Pig Monster” she’s referring to is disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, whom has been accused of raping McGowan in 1997. Marchesa is the name of the fashion label co-founded by Georgina Chapman, Weinstein’s estranged wife.
This isn’t the first time McGowan has directly called out Streep. During the recent Massachusetts Conference for Women, Streep addressed the mounting allegations against Weinstein, describing them as “the most gargantuan example of disrespect.”
McGown responded the comment on Twitter, writing: “No, Meryl, IT'S A FUCKING CRIME. You are such a lie.”
