Adam Sandler Says Becoming a Gen Z Style Icon Was 'Accidental'
Gen Z coined the term "Sandlercore" to describe the legendary actor's wardrobe.
Who else is a Madam Sandler enthusiast?
Adam Sandler has quickly become a Gen Z fashion icon thanks to his relaxed wardrobe, which many now refer to as "Sandlercore." On Tuesday, the 57-year-old icon chatted with People about Gen Z’s love for his style.
"You know, this is an accidental thing," he told the outlet. "But here I am wearing goofy clothes, and I don't know. I don't think about it."
While unintentional, the actor is nothing but supportive of "Madam Sandler" style, in which the wearer combines a crop top and long, oversized shorts.
"Crop top, I used to wear when I was young," he said. "I used to wear the half shirt. Now, it would not be great for anybody, but I get it. Comfortable. That sounds like a good outfit."
This week Sandler celebrated the premiere of his new standup special, Love You in New York City. That night, the comedian donned a yellow polo shirt and red Adidas track pants, very much in line with his comfort-focused fashion that often includes Hawaiian shirts, baggy shorts, and t-shirts.
