Hasan Piker Flashbanged and Kettled by Cops During Los Angeles ICE Protest
The left-wing streamer is known for his views on immigration, Palestine, and more.
Hasan Piker participated in protests against ICE in Los Angeles.
Clips from the demonstration show the streamer and other protestors getting kettled and flashbanged by police over the weekend.
“Oh shit,” Piker said in a video. People started to scramble when they heard the non-lethal explosive device detonate. “Alright, so I guess they’re pushing us in,” Piker continued as the camera panned over the crowd and showed someone spraypainting, “Fuck ICE” on a wall.
“They got tear gas,” someone said off-camera. “Don’t run,” someone said, before yelling, “Slow!”
In a second clip, Piker said, “I think they’re gonna push in from this side of the road,” amid multiple flashbangs. “That fucked my hair up,” he added, laughing hysterically.
Piker—who is first-generation Turkish—is a left-wing political commentator who seeks to educate his audience on Palestine, immigration, the Democratic party, the Trump administration, the economy, and more. He's also often touted as his generation's top political pundit.
In January, the 33-year-old interviewed inmate firefighters who were working to control the wildfires in LA.
"I try to use my platform this way 'cause there are lots of normal ppl out there who fell through the cracks of the system with no support whatsoever,” Piker wrote on X, when explaining why he was interviewing them. “We cast them aside and choose to dehumanize them. Everyone is trying their best. rehabilitation & reintegration lowers recidivism.”
