Kai Cenat Says He Turned Down $60 Million Kick Deal: ‘I Wouldn’t Be Here Right Now’
The 22-year-old recently became the No. 1 most subscribed Twitch streamer, again.
Kai Cenat claims he turned down millions from Kick.
The media personality revealed in a recent Twitch stream that Kick proposed paying him $60 million to stream half of his first Mafiathon on the platform and announce he had officially signed with Kick.
Cenat gave more insight into the deal, saying Kick called him. “They was like, ‘Yo, we’ll give you 60’—I think it was like $60 million or however much millions it was—’if you stream half of the subathon on Kick and then at the end of the subathon, you reveal that you have to join Kick.”
“I hung up the phone—chat, this is real—I literally got down on my knees and I prayed, and I asked God if this is the right decision, I wanna follow my heart, let me just make the right decision here and please don’t let me regret it. And chat, I still feel like if I went, I wouldn’t be here right now. No cap.”
However, another streamer, Trainwreckstv then claimed the amount was actually $22 million.
Cenat responded to Trainwreckstv: "First of all, I have no reason to lie. ... In the moment of time, they wanted the subathon so bad that I literally denied it multiple times to where they just kept rising it and rising it and rising it. ... And then after, it became a three-year thing and then after, it became a half of a subathon on Kick and you gotta reveal [you joined Kick]."
He continued, "It wasn't $60 million just for the subathon, hell no. It was for like a full-time agreement.
Cenat hosted his first subathon from Feb. 1 to March 2, 2023. He calls his version of a subathon—or marathon livestream—the Mafiathon, which combines Mafia, his name for his fans, with the word marathon. During a subathon, streamers broadcast 24/7, which Kai did for 30 consecutive days last year.
Cenat recently kicked off Mafiathon 2 on Nov. 1. Thanks to the success of his subathon, he has already reclaimed the title of number one Twitch streamer, which he previously lost to VTuber Ironmouse. On Monday, Kai surpassed Ironmouse’s 326,252 subscriber record.
So far, for Mafiathon 2, Kai has welcomed DDG and his son Halo, NLE Choppa, GloRilla, Kodak Black, Snoop Dogg, Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, and Miranda Cosgrove. Cenat announced the subathon's impending arrival in late October with a trailer featuring Kim Kardashian, in what appeared to be an homage to The Sopranos.
