Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ mother has responded to Allison Holker saying her son was using drugs before his death.

Connie Boss Alexander took to Instagram on Thursday, calling Holker’s claims “misleading and hurtful.”

She continued, “The recent publications spreading untruths about Stephen have crossed every line of decency. As his mother, I will not let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished. He doesn’t deserve this, and his kids don’t deserve this.”

“For the last two years, I have remained quiet and away from the public eye to protect my family. My primary focus has been on healing and attempting to remain connected to my grandchildren. But when I read those dreadful claims about my baby, our beloved Stephen, I realized I could not stay silent any longer. Our family will ensure his name and memory are protected, and we are committed to defending his honor.”

Alexander’s comments follow Holker’s own response on Thursday. She stated after facing backlash about the arrival of her forthcoming memoir, which includes personal details about her late husband, tWitch.

“To fans of Stephen and our family and friends, I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday. “Just like you, I never really knew what happened, and even as I am trying to put the pieces together I will never really know.”

She added that her book, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light, is meant to “celebrate the love and life” she and Boss shared with their three children, daughters Wesley and Renae and son Maddox.

“My hope is that that we won’t need to lose another husband, brother, father, or friend to suicide,” she said. “I believe that if Stephen were able to choose, he would choose to have his story told if it meant saving even one life. Much love to all those who have supported our family these many years.”

This week, Holker was slammed after she revealed in a story with People about the arrival of her memoir. Many accused her of exploiting Boss’ death, to whom she was married for nine years, from 2013 to 2022. Boss—who was the former DJ on Ellen—died by suicide at 40 years old in December 2022.

In the story for People, Holker claimed she discovered a “cornucopia” of drugs that Boss left behind, like mushrooms and pills—and that he chose to “self-medicate” to cope with his depression.

"It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed," she said of Boss' alleged drug addiction.

Alexander isn’t tWitch’s only family member who’s accused Holker of defaming him. tWitch’s cousin, Darielle took to X earlier this week, writing that Holker has "been trying to tarnish his legacy and refuses to let the Boss family see the children. Only to exploit and LIE on my cousin.”

This Far arrives on Feb. 4.
