LulzSec Hacker Group Breaks Into U.S. Senate Website

Apparently, the U.S. Senate website isn't safe from attacks, either.

The mysterious collective responsible for a number of recent cyber attacks, including the breaking into the servers that run Sony Picture Entertainment’s websites, has claimed responsibility for cracking the U.S. Senate’s website.

The group known as Lulzsec on Monday posted a configuration file for the Senate’s main website on its on homepage along with the a release saying:

The line was in response to a recent Wall Street Journal article that reported the Pentagon considered some forms of cyber attacks as warfare.

There’s no evidence that any sensitive information was obtained from the attack, and a representative from the U.S. Senate said she was unaware of any security breach.
