A couple of weeks ago we posted an article from Slate that revealed Hollywood screenwriters are currently running rampant with the blockbuster formula provided by Blake Snyder in his How-To book, Save the Cat. Well, all hope is not lost. Speaking to New York Magazine in an article brilliantly titled "Nuke the Cat," screenwriter and script doctor Damon Lindelof - he touched up World War Z, co-wrote Star Trek: Into Darkness, and of course, co-created Lost - talks about the current landscape for mainstream Hollywood screenplays, and intentionally zig-zagging away from the typical tropes that make every blockbuster nowadays feel so damn redundant.
