BET will break open the time capsule to celebrate the 25th anniversary of former music video countdown, 106 & Park.

On Tuesday (May 6), the network announced that the show's 25th anniversary special will be held during the 2025 BET Awards on Monday, June 9. Slated to reunite are former 106 & Park hosts AJ Calloway, Free, Julissa Bermudez, Terrance J, Rocsi Diaz, Keshia Chanté and 'Mr. 106 & Park,' Bow Wow. Also joining are throwback artists Amerie, Mya, B2K, T.I. and Jim Jones.

The original show premiered on September 2000 and, for fourteen years, was an after-school favorite of hip-hop and R&B fans.

"106 & Park was more than just a music countdown show; it was the heartbeat of Black youth culture and one of the highest-rated BET programs for over a decade," stated Scott Mills, President and CEO at BET.

"From Freestyle Friday to unforgettable live performances, it launched careers, influenced fashion, and became a platform where voices, style, and sound converged," Mills continued. "106 & Park both celebrated and fueled many of the most important musical and culture evolutions that occurred during its two-and-a-half-decade tenure."

The 25th 106 & Park anniversary will begin just two days before the weekend's main event, with a Freestyle Friday battle being held at the BET Experience (BETX) Fan Fest live from the 106 & Park stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Other events include the BETX on Sunday, June 8, where the show's hosts will reflect on special 106 moments and engage with fans. The 2025 BET Awards airs via BET and BET.com on June 9 at 8 pm ET/PT.
