Adam Scott on Working With Goats on ‘Severance': 'They Just Wanna Eat Your Shoelaces'
The actor says the animals also "poop on the floor," but they're adorable.
Goats are "steadfast" costars for Severance actor Adam Scott.
With the second season of the hit Apple TV+ shows concluding this week, Scott spoke with GQ about the biggest Severance moments, like goats frequently appearing throughout the series. For the animals, being on set is more work than play.
"Goats don't care about cameras, and lights, and hitting marks," Scott said around the three-minute mark of the video below. "They just want to eat your shoelaces, and walk around, and poop on the floor."
"They're adorable animals. And now I can say that I've worked with goats quite a bit on camera," he continued. "They're a steadfast co-star of mine."
Scott added that while the goats are "running around," the crew will "never know quite what they're gonna do or what noises they're gonna make" while Severance players are in acting mode.
"I think for the actual dialogue, we would wait until the goats were out of range, and then shoot whatever dialogue we had to do," he admitted.
Severance season two introduced viewers to a new Lumon department named 'Mammalians Nurturable,' where the farm animals are looked after under the leadership of Lorne, played by Gwendoline Christie.
In a recent GQ interview, series creator Dan Erickson was mum about using goats in the show, refusing to "say anything" because he didn't want to spoil the plot.
