Amanda Bynes Hosts Her First Art Show
The former child star showed off her foray into painting in a new sold-out show.
Amanda Bynes showcased her art during an event in Los Angeles on Sunday (Dec. 21).
That evening, the former actress displayed her artwork at West Hollywood plant nursery Plants + Spaces during a collaborative pop-up with designer Austin Babbitt. Among those who attended the occasion in support of Bynes was Noah Cyrus, and as NBC Bay Area notes, Bynes exhibited paintings titled "Stars," "Grey," "Night" and "Lavender Dreams."
Bynes' work at the space reportedly sold out, and the former Amanda Show star, who attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, wrote on her Instagram Stories in October that her associate's degree in "product development at FIDM paid off."
The show also comes four years after Bynes, 38, shared that she plans to launch a fashion line. "Sup, Instagram. Just wanted to say hi to all of my followers; I really wanted to say I appreciate you so much for supporting me," she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
She continued, "I’m really looking forward to starting my clothing line, and I’m hoping that in the near future it will be out online."
As her 2019 profile in PAPER mentions, Bynes enrolled in FIDM in 2014 after seeing Lauren Conrad attending classes there on the former MTV reality show The Hills. But even while among other students, Bynes admitted that she was "more guarded" than she was before amid speculation about her past substance abuse and mental health issues. Bynes' last role was in 2010 comedy Easy A.
