It took a series of grueling workouts for Jennifer Garner to make a comeback as Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The actress, 52, proved that she was in top form in a mini-recap titled "Becoming Elektra." The one-minute clip, soundtracked by a remix of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road," follows Garner going through multiple days of exercising and practicing her swordfighting skills before she's costumed as Elektra.

In a lengthy Instagram caption, Garner thanked her workout team, along with Deadpool director Shawn Levy and co-stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Tatum and Snipes. The actress also recalled that she was on the set of 2022 Netflix The Adam Project when Levy and Reynolds approached her with returning as Elektra.

"I didn’t know that Elektra and I needed an ending, but Shawn and Ryan did. They are gifted in many ways, but seeing and elevating people around them is at the top of the list," Garner wrote.

She continued, "Shooting the fight was so fun, being there all together—truly like a dream. I’m proud of my friends and grateful to be up there with them. Thank you doesn’t cut it, guys, but it’s a good placeholder until I figure out what does. ⚔️♥️"

Garner last played the Marvel superhero in 2005 Daredevil spinoff Elektra, but in the new Deadpool, she revisits the character alongside Wesley Snipes as Blade and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
