Karla Sofia Gascón was under the influence while attending the 97th Academy Awards.

The Emilia Pérez, who was nominated for Best Actress at this year's ceremony, made up what she lost in goodies from her Oscars gift bag, including a THC drink. Days after Gascón consumed the beverage and came down from being high at the 2025 Oscars, she shared what happened in her Instagram Stories, translated from Spanish to English.

The 52-year-old, who has been controversial after the resurfacing of her past tweets, detailed the experience because it's "it’s important to laugh at ourselves."

Gascón explained that her gift bag was a bag of chips and a lemon-flavored drink, the latter which caused an intense effect.

"Suddenly I start to feel dizzy and I think it is tiredness, I go to bed, but I notice that the intensity rises and I start to worry, I call a friend to tell him to be alert in case something happens to me," the actress wrote.

"The situation does not improve and I start to take some candy because my blood pressure drops and I have a strange feeling. I move as I can and say 'Let’s see if something I have eaten has made me sick,' I check the composition of the bag of chips – nothing, of the can of soda and…."

A accompanying photo showed a logo on the drink can that read "MG THC." "I laugh now even though I still have vertigo, but I did get scared," she concluded. "Good thing my daughter didn’t take it to school. Anyway, the rest of the gifts very nice, thank you."

While Gascón wouldn't take home Best Actress at the ceremony on Sunday (March 2), she was a good sport, congratulating fellow Emilia Pérez star Zoe Saldaña on her Best Supporting Actress win, along with Clément Ducol and Camille, who won Best Original Song for the film's "El Mal." During the opening monologue, Oscars host Conan O'Brien joked that if Gascón tweets about the Oscars, to refer to him as Jimmy Kimmel, to which she obliged.
