Pop star Taylor Swift has always appeared to have a strong relationship with her dad, Scott Swift, and mom, Andrea Swift.

Scott opened up about her career, telling his alma mater that his daughter has been singing since she was a small child.

The family even relocated to Nashville so Taylor could pursue her music career. Scott took his business, Swift Group at Merrill Lynch, with him, he told the University of Delaware's publication UDaily.

It's therefore not surprising that Taylor was by her dad's side as he recovers from a major health crisis.

According to TMZ, Scott recently underwent major heart surgery.

News of the procedure kept quiet until Wednesday, July 16, when Taylor's spokesperson confirmed that her dad "had quintuple bypass surgery over a month ago."

Andrea, and Swift's brother, Austin Swift, were with Scott "through the entire surgery and recovery process," the spokesperson told the outlet.

However, the prognosis is looking positive for Scott, as TMZ reported that he is feeling "just great," and the issue was caught before Taylor's dad had a heart attack. Rather, a check-up with his doctor led to the operation, TMZ reported.

"Quintuple bypass surgery is a complex procedure done to treat people with five severely blocked major arteries that feed the heart," according to Very Well Health. "Blood vessels are removed from another part of the body and transplanted onto each affected heart vessel to reroute blood flow around the blockages."

The surgery "improves blood supply to the heart, reducing pain, shortness of breath, and possibly the risk of cardiac-related death," that site reports.

Taylor sang about her close relationship with her father in the song The Best Day from her Fearless album.

"I have an excellent father; his strength is making me stronger,” she sang on the track.
