Jack Doherty's Brother Says He Supports Kick Ban: 'He Needs to Learn His Lesson'
Michael Doherty said his brother has a "big bump" on his head and complained of neck pains the day after the accident.
Jack Doherty's brother Michael explains why he believes it was a "good thing" that the 20-year-old has been banned from Kick after crashing his McLaren while live streaming.
"I think he needs to learn his lesson," Doherty said at the 7:06 mark of the TMZ Verified podcast. "Like, you're not invincible and I think that kinda stuck with him a little bit after the accident."
According to NBC News, a spokesperson for Kick said the platform "does not condone illegal activity, which is why we swiftly took action to ban this creator from the platform" in response to the removal of Doherty's account.
The stream appeared to be in violation of several community guidelines, including the requirement to "prioritize your safety and the safety of those around you by avoiding dangerous behavior."
Doherty can be seen repeatedly looking down at his phone before his vehicle veers off the road. Michael David, the person who was sitting in the passenger seat and filming Jack at the time of the accident, emerges from the car bloodied.
Jack's cameraman, who goes by Michael, was taken to the hospital where he received stitches on his forehead. He also suffered a separated shoulder, which was sustained when he was pulled out of the vehicle.
Jack woke up the following day with "a big bump" on his head and complained of neck pains. Michael described his brother's demeanor as "kinda sad" over the Kick ban because the platform was a partial source of his income.
Doherty is also dealing with the fact that he almost lost his life and totaled his McLaren, which is valued at over $250,000.
