Sarah Paulson's partner Holland Taylor does not see marriage in their future.

The 81-year-old actress tells Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM channel Radio Andy that they have never discussed the possibility of tying the knot in earnest. "It doesn't seem to mean to us what it means to a lot of people," Taylor explained.

According to People, Taylor and Paulson confirmed their relationship in 2015 and have been together ever since.

Taylor described their relationship as a "wonderful resonance," while also mentioning their "big generational difference...which worries me for her sake."

The Legally Blonde and Two and a Half Men star is 32 years older than Paulson.

Holland said their age difference helps her identify and understand certain phases of life that the American Horror Story star is currently going through.

"I mean, a lot of the things that she's going through that are very emotional and important to her right now I went through, you know, 40 years ago, 30 years ago," she said. "And she brings them up in my memory and I think, ‘Oh, of course, this is hard.' Or, 'of course that’s great, of course that’s important to her.'"

Paulson revealed on Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett's podcast Smartless earlier this year that the "secret" to their relationship is they live separately. "We spend plenty of time together, but we don’t live in the same house," she said.

Paulson seemed to indicate that disagreements led to this arrangement, which allows them to be "together when we want to be, and we're not when we don't."
