Bobbi Althoff’s Announces the End of 'The Really Good Podcast': 'I Will Miss the Money'
Althoff's podcast launched in 2023 and featured viral interviews with Drake, Offset, Michael Cera, Nick Cannon, and more.
Bobbi Althoff has pulled the plug on The Really Good Podcast.
The 28-year-old content creator dropped the news on July 31, just two and a half years after launching the series.
“All right, guys, I don’t think there’s any really good way to say this, but this is the last episode of The Really Good Podcast,” she said in Thursday’s episode. “I think I should take my glasses off to say it, too... So, today, we're gonna put on a little funeral for it."
After delivering a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Althoff reflected on her podcast’s rapid success, thanks in large part to her viral deadpan interviews with everyone from Jimmy Kimmel and Mark Cuban to Offset and Michael Cera to Lil Yachty and Logic.
“She was a great podcast. She got me this house, got me the car I drive, she got me a lot of stuff. She was really great. I really did appreciate her for the time I had with her. She brought me a lot of memories and a lot of great guests. She got me a few interviews taken down… I’m going to miss her. And I will miss doing this podcast, and I will miss the money this podcast brought me. But more importantly, you guys will miss it because you guys are the fans.”
Althoff began her “eulogy” by revisiting some of the podcast’s most memorable episodes, including her in-bed Drake interview that was later deleted. That episode catapulted Althoff into the pop culture zeitgeist, as it went on to receive more than 1 billion views and over 300 million likes. About a year after the Drizzy interview premiered, the chart-topping series was named the Best Emerging Podcast at the 2024 iHeart Podcast Awards.
“This podcast started off with just a girl with a dream to make more money,” Althoff said. “I knew when I started that it was gonna go places. I didn’t know that I would fall off as quickly as I did. To be honest, I did think this was gonna last a bit longer. But nevertheless, it lasted a minute, and I’m proud of the accomplishments I had. I’m pretty sad it had to end like this, but it’s OK… It has been a dream, every second of it.”
