Watch Will Smith React to Learning xQc's Age: 'Damn!'
The moment occurred during during Smith's surprise appearance in xQc's Twitch stream.
Will Smith’s first-ever Twitch stream is the gift that keeps on giving.
The Oscar-winning actor made headlines this week after he seemingly crashed xQc’s February 19 broadcast. The casual sit-down delivered plenty of funny and now-viral moments, like Smith unbanning users on xQc’s stream, purchasing subscriptions with xQc’s PayPal account, and receiving a quick lesson on Gen-Z slang. But one of the most talked-about moments occurred when xQc revealed his age.
“I’m 29 now,” the streamer said.
“You’re 29? Damn!” Smith responded.
“Really? You’re going to unc me now?” xQc said. “You’re mad you’re getting unc’d, so then you’re going to unc me now.”
xQc was referring to Smith’s earlier comments after he noticed many audience members were calling him “unc,” a shortened version of “uncle” that typically refers to older men.
“I saw a lot of ‘Uncle Wills’ in there. There’s a bunch of ‘Uncle Wills,’” the 56-year-old actor said while reading the chat. “They’re calling me ‘unc.’ I’m unc now. That happened about five years ago, people started calling me unc.”
Smith then revealed that Michael B. Jordan once referred to him as an “OG,” which took him by surprise as he still thought of himself as a younger guy.
“OG is good [but] unc is like the drunk uncle at the barbecue,” Smith explained. “When I was growing up, ‘unc’ and ‘auntie’ were the old people.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Smith revealed he was still working on I Am Legend 2 and was eager to get Jordan involved.
“Me and Michael B. Jordan have sat down for about a week, just went through character stuff,” he said. “That’s a real thing. I’d love to work with that dude. Akiva Goldsman is the writer, so, he’s putting it together.”
Smith also teased a potential sequel to 2008’s Hancock in which he played the titular anti-hero. And while he couldn’t provide too many details on the project, he said his team was looking to cast a major actress.
“There’s a really cool, really cool Hancock 2 idea,” he said. “We haven’t even talked about it so I’m gonna give you one little piece — Zendaya is being approached for a role in Hancock 2.”
