An argument over a seat on a subway car resulted in three people being slashed and stabbed in New York City yesterday, authorities say.

Gothamist reports that around 7:45 p.m., two separate groups engaged in a heated verbal confrontation aboard a 5 train that culminated in a 19-year-old man sustaining slashes to his neck and face, a 26-year-old woman being slashed in the back, and a 27-year-old suffering a stab wound to her face.

Three people—Carla Lamarche, 23; Walliris Velez, 27; and Paul Regon, also 27—were arrested. Each face assault charges, but Regon faces additional charges for menacing, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
