F Train Reportedly Derails in Queens (Updated)

An F train with roughly 1,000 passengers derailed in the Woodside section of Queens this morning.

Authorities say an F train derailed in Queens this morning.

According to NBC New York, the MTA says the train, desitned for Manhattan, derailed in Woodside around 10:25 a.m. The FDNY responded to the incident following reports of smoke and injuries. The area is reportedly being evacuated:

Delays on the R, E and M lines should be expected, as well. We will update this story as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: NBC New York reports that at least 19 people have been injured, adding that firefighters were forced to use a sidewalk grate to rescue passengers. Of the 19 people hurt, just four sustained serious injuries.
