Student Killed Following Shooting at South Carolina State University (Updated)
Police are currently searching for four suspects.
A student has reportedly been shot on South Carolina State University's campus. According to authorities, the shooting took place in an on-campus dorm at the Orangeburg, S.C. school, and the campus has been placed on lockdown. Per the Chicago Sun-Times, police are currently searching off-campus for four suspects.

According to ABC News, the victim has passed away. In a statement, university president Thomas J. Elzey expressed his "deepest condolences" to the victim's family, while reassuring parents that their children are still in good hands. The student's name has not been released pending family notification; descriptions of the four alleged suspects have not been released, either.
UPDATE: The New York Daily News reports that the victim has been identified as 20-year-old Brandon A. Robinson. Robinson was taken to a local hospital shortly after being shot outside of the Hugine Suites this afternoon. Robinson, a redshirt junior, played defensive lineman for South Carolina State's football team.
